Nick Zaunbrecher, MHA, CPA
Chief Strategy Officer
As CVL’s chief strategy officer, Nickolas Zaunbrecher oversees CVL’s financial operations, strategic planning, and business development. He is responsible for the platform’s financial performance and works with the CFOs at each partner practice to guide CVL’s next phase of development.
Nick previously served as the chief financial officer for CVL and, before that, for Cardiovascular Institute of the South (CIS). A native of Crowley, Louisiana, he brings more than 33 years of healthcare administration experience. He earned a Bachelor of Science in human resource management and accounting at Louisiana State University and a Master of Science in healthcare administration at the University of St. Francis in Joliet, Illinois. Nick is also a licensed certified public accountant.
Prior to joining CVL and CIS, Nick was employed as chief financial officer for Acute Care Hospitals as well as the chief executive officer of Meadowbrook Specialty Hospital (formerly Healthsouth) in Lafayette, Louisiana.
Nick currently serves on the board of trustees for the Regional Health System of Acadiana, which consists of the Regional Medical Center of Acadiana and Women’s and Children’s Hospital. In addition, Nick has held many titles for the Louisiana Hospital Association, including chairperson for the Long-Term Acute Care Constituency Group, member of the Legislative, Regulatory and Policy Council, and president of the Southwest District in 2006. He is a part of the Lafayette Chamber of Commerce Education Outreach Committee and also serves on community boards such as Junior Achievement and the YMCA.
Nick was the secretary of the Lafayette Community Healthcare Consortium from 2000 to 2002. He is a member of the American Institute of CPAs and has been a member of the Society of Louisiana Certified Public Accountants since 1993.
