Michelle Wimberly

Michelle Wimberly serves as director of physician recruitment and retention for CVL, with a focus on new practice development, LEAN initiatives, patient and employee satisfaction, and staff training and development.

Prior to joining CVL, Michelle spent three decades with Cardiovascular Institute of the South (CIS), most recently serving as director of physician recruiting and retention. Her previous roles with CIS include business development manager, regional manager, and office team leader.

A native of Lafayette, Louisiana, Michelle earned a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology from the University of Southwestern Louisiana in Lafayette. She is a member of the Medical Group Management Association (MGMA) and the Association for Advancing Physician and Provider Recruitment (AAPPR). Wimberly is also a past recipient of the Mary Domangue Award, presented to the CIS team leader who most exemplifies the high standards of patient care, compassion, and dedication, showing that she carries out the mission, vision, and values that underpin the CVL organization. During her time at CIS, she also received the Ace Award and All-Star Award.
