David C. Konur, FACHE

David C. Konur is chairman of the CVL board of directors, where he provides strategic guidance and oversight to advance the company’s mission of providing patients with the highest quality cardiovascular care available. As founder and former CEO, David established CVL in partnership with Lee Equity Partners in 2023 and led the platform through remarkable growth in its first three years, expanding from one to five practices and increasing the number of providers from 120 to over 440.

Previously, David served for nearly 25 years as CEO of Cardiovascular Institute of the South (CIS), one of the nation’s most respected groups of cardiovascular specialists. Under his leadership, the practice grew to 21 locations across multiple states, providing hundreds of thousands of patients with exceptional quality care. David received the company’s prestigious Fly High Award in 2017 for his dynamic vision and distinguished leadership, and CIS was recognized four years in a row as one of the best companies in healthcare by Modern Healthcare.

David received a Master of Healthcare Administration from Tulane University in New Orleans, Louisiana, and a Bachelor of Science in Biology from Virginia Tech in Blacksburg, Virginia. He is a fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives and a member of the Medical Group Management Association. David serves on the boards of several healthcare companies and civic organizations and has received multiple awards and honors, including the Lafayette Medical Society Humanitarian award for his work during Hurricane Katrina and a United States Gold Congressional Medal.
