Casey Bergeron, MBA

Casey Bergeron serves as chief information officer (CIO) at CVL, leveraging more than two decades of healthcare information technology experience. In this role, he manages and implements the company’s IT strategy and ensures the organization has the infrastructure to achieve its goals.

Casey previously served as CIO of Cardiovascular Institute of the South (CIS), where he directed and coordinated all the company’s IT development and production activities. Prior to joining CIS in 2012, he was the technical operations manager at Terrebonne General Medical Center, managing the hospital’s technical infrastructure and overseeing the staff responsible for information technology operations. Casey also held positions as technical team leader, database administrator, and systems analyst with the hospital.

Casey earned a Bachelor of Science in computer science with a minor in mathematics from Nicholls State University in Thibodaux, Louisiana and a Master of Business Administration from Louisiana State University Shreveport. In 2014, he won the CIS Leadership Award, presented to the team leader demonstrating the spirit of teamwork, creativity, innovation, and willingness to meet the challenges of the future. In 2020, he was awarded the Mary Domangue Award, presented to the CIS team leader who most exemplifies the high standards of patient care, compassion, and dedication. He was also awarded multiple Special Achievement awards during his tenure with CIS. Casey is a member of the Association of Computing Machinery, the Medical Group Management Association, and the Healthcare Information and Management Systems Society.
